The study reviewed complication rates of shoulder fracture fixation from a large national data base and compared results with several different techniques. Although the study was of interest, there were severe flaws in the study methodology. Dr. Groh recommended the study not be published and the editors of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery agreed.

Dr. Groh also plans on drawing on his network of shoulder experts from Harvard, Duke, Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic and others to round out the additional chapters. The final book is expected by Spring Publishing in early 2016.
