Dr. Groh asked to review study for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery
June 29, 2015:Orthopaedic surgeon Andrew Green, MD the chief of shoulder surgery and assistant editor at the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (jbjs.org—the top rated impact journal of orthopedic surgery) asked Dr. Groh to review a scientific study for potential publication. The study reviewed complication rates of shoulder fracture fixation from a large national data base and compared results with several different techniques. Although the study was of interest, there were severe flaws in the study methodology. Dr. Groh recommended the study not be published and the editors of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery agreed.
